Difficulties With Demonstrations On This Web Site

As you may have gathered from the web site address, this is not a big corporate site. In fact it is a very basic web site that comes as part of a package that is provided by my Internet Service Provider (ISP). Consequently all of the small demonstration programs that run in the background on this web site actually have to run on your computer, not the ISP computer.

These background programs are either JavaScript scripts or Java applets. So if the demonstrations on this web site are not working and you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer proceed as follows:
  1. From the main menu select Tools and Internet Options.
  2. Switch to the Security panel and press the Custom Level button.
  3. Scroll down to the Microsoft VM section and check the Java permissions is not Disabled. If it is change it to one of the safety options like High safety.
  4. Scroll down to the Scripting section and check that Active Scripting, Allow paste operations via script and Scripting of Java applets are all set to Enable.
In addition, you may get this annoying yellow band appearing across the top of the Internet Explorer window with a message like "To help protect security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file . . . ". From here you can either select the Allow Blocked Content every time it happens or proceed as follows:
  1. From the main menu select Tools and Internet Options.
  2. Switch to the Advanced panel.
  3. Scroll down to the Security section
  4. Tick Allow active content to run in files on My Computer
